¡Únete a nosotros en “Poesía Sin Fronteras: Explorando el Arte de las Palabras”! Este taller inclusivo y bilingüe está diseñado para adultos de todas las edades. La narradora, Liana Henry, y la poetisa, Pilar Quintana, serán las talleristas. Junto a ellas tendrás la oportunidad de explorar cómo contar historias personales usando la poesía. También podrás escuchar ejemplos, en inglés y spanglish, pertenecientes a la poesía hispana moderna en los Estados Unidos. ¡Podrás escribir poemas en el idioma que prefieras! Se leerán y discutirán varios poemas de la Latino Poetry: The Library of America Anthology. El programa será ofrecido en inglés con interpretación simultánea al español así como al lenguage de señas.

Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home (Lugares que llamamos hogar) es una gran iniciativa pública en el campo de las humanidades, que se proyecta para el 2024 – 2025. Es dirigida por Library of América con el generoso apoyo del Fondo Nacional para las Humanidades y Emerson Collective.

Join us for “Poetry Without Borders: Exploring the Art of Words.” This inclusive and bilingual workshop is designed for adults of all ages! The storyteller, Liana Henry, and the poet, Pilar Quintana, will be leading the workshop. Alongside them, you will have the opportunity to explore how to tell personal stories using poetry. You will also be able to listen to examples in English and Spanglish from modern Hispanic poetry in the United States. You can write poems in the language of your choice! Several poems from Latino Poetry: The Library of America Anthology will be read and discussed. The program will be offered in English with simultaneous interpretation into Spanish and sign language.

This program is presented as part of Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home, a major public humanities initiative taking place across the nation in 2024 and 2025, directed by Library of America and funded with generous support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and Emerson Collective.
